Statement of Faith and Doctrinal Statement
The follow comprise the Scriptural beliefs of this corporation, its directors, and its members.
1. We believe in the Bible in the original tongues to be verbally [and plenarily] inspired Word of God, and the only infallible rule of faith and practice. (2 Timothy 3:16,17)
2. We believe in one God, eternally existing in three persons – Father, Son and Holy Spirit. (Luke 3:21-22; 2 Peter 1:2; 2 Corinthians 13:14; Deuteronomy 6:4)
3. We believe in the Deity of the Lord Jesus Christ; that He was conceived of the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary. [Thus, He is both fully God and fully man] (John 1:1-3,14; Matthew 1:18-25)
4. We believe that all things were created by God. According to Genesis chapter 1, we believe the universe was created in six literal days and is continuously sustained by God; thus, it both reflects His glory and reveals His truth. Human beings were directly created, not evolved, in the very image of God. As reasoning moral agents, they are responsible under God for understanding and governing themselves and the world (Genesis 1:1-31; 2:1-3; 2:18-25; 3:1-19; Exodus 20:11; Psalm 8:3; 90:2; 148:1-5; Job 1:6-7; Isaiah 14:12-14; Ezekiel 28:12-17; Luke 10:18; Romans 1:20; Ephesians 3:9; Hebrews 1:3,6,14; 11:3; Colossians 2:15; Revelation 7:11-12; 12:8-10)
5. We believe that man was created in the image of God, that he sinned, and thereby, incurred not only physical death but also that spiritual death, which is separation from God; that all human beings are born with a sinful nature, and thus sin in thought, word and deed. (Romans 5:12-21)
6. We believe that the only way to be saved is by repentance from sin and faith in the blood sacrifice, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, the Son of God. We believe in the eternal security of the believers. (John 3:16, 10:28; Luke 13:3,5; Acts 20:20,21; 26:19,20; Ephesian 2:8-9)
7. We believe that our Lord Jesus Christ ascended into heaven, that He ever lives to make intercession for all that come to God by Him, and that He is the only Mediator between God and man. (Acts 1:9-11; Hebrews 4:14; Ephesians 1:20-21; 1 Timothy 2:5; Hebrews 9:24; 1 John 2:1)
8. We believe that each one who accepts the Lord Jesus Christ as his personal Savior has been baptized by the Holy Spirit into the invisible church, which is the Body of Christ, and is indwelt by the Holy Spirit. (1 Corinthians 12:13)
9. We believe the Bible teaches that every saved person should be baptized by immersion and added to the membership of a local body of believers and practice regular attendance in a Bible-preaching church. We believe that the sign gifts of the Spirit were given only for the apostolic era, providing revelation and authenticating the ministry of the apostles and the early church. We do not believe that the modern charismatic movement is consistent with the teaching of God’s Word. (Matthew 28:19; Acts 2:47)
10. We believe that the two ordinances of the Church are the Lord’s Supper and water baptism; that the immersion of a believer in water is Christian baptism and that it is the will and command of Christ. (Romans 6:1-5; Colossians 2:12; Acts 2:41; 8:12,36-38; 9:18; 10:47)
11. We believe that each true believer in Christ is part of the Body of Christ (universal church) and that each one who receives the Lord Jesus Christ as his personal Savior is indwelt by the Holy Spirit. (Matthew 16:18; Romans 8:9; 1 Corinthians 12:12-28; 6:19-20)
12. We believe that Satan is a spiritual being, the author of the fall and that he will be eternally punished. (Genesis 3:15; Job 1:6-7; Revelation 20:2-10)
13. We believe in the bodily resurrection of the dead, both the just and the unjust; and in the eternal conscious punishment of the Lost and the eternal joy of the Saved. (Revelation 20:11-15; 22:12-14; 1 Corinthians 15:58)
14. We believe that God commands Christians to separate unto God and from worldliness and ecclesiastical apostasy. (2 Corinthians 6:14-70; 2 Thessalonians 3:6-15)
15. We believe that the first day of the week is to be observed as the Lord’s Day. (John 20:19; Acts 20:4; 1 Corinthians 16:1-2)
16. We believe it is our duty as Christians to love one another and to tell the “Good News” of the gospel to everyone we can. (1 Corinthians 13:1-13; 1 John 4:7-21; Matthew 28:19-21)
17. We believe that Scripture defines marriage as an exclusive covenant between one man and one woman for life, and that any sexual activity outside of this definition of marriage is a violation of God’s laws. Scripture teaches that all forms of homosexuality, lesbianism, bisexuality, bestiality, incest, fornication, adultery and pornography are sinful perversions of God’s plan for sexual intimacy.
18. We believe that the Biblical Worldview clearly teaches that there are two and only two natural born sexes. We further believe that man-made constructs of multiple genders are erroneous. Genesis 1:27: “So God create man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them.” Christ, the Creator, made His argument for the permanence of marriage in Matthew 19:4 based on this principle: “Have you not read that He who made them at the beginning ‘made them male and female …?” While recognizing that historically, English grammar has acknowledged three genders (masculine, feminine, and neuter), the Holy Scriptures clearly state that humanity was created as either male or female. Thus, we believe that since God is the Creator of one’s sex, He disapproves of and forbids any attempt to alter one’s natural born sex by surgery or appearance. (Genesis 1:26-28; 2:21-25; 19:5,13; Leviticus 18; [Matthew 19:4]; Romans 1:26-27; 1 Corinthians 5:1; 6:9-11; 1 Thessalonians 4:3; 1 Timothy 1:10; Hebrews 13:4)
19. We believe that the behavior for Christians commanded in the Bible includes, but is not limited to, refraining from such activities as the abuse of alcoholic beverages, the abuse of tobacco, use of illicit drugs, the use of vulgar and profane language, or other actions that would reflect negatively on a Christian’s testimony for Christ (Romans 12:1-2, 1 Corinthians 6:19,20; Colossians 3:17; 1 Thessalonians 2:10; 5:22; Titus 2:7-8; James 3:17,18; 1 John 3:1-3)
